“Order! Order in the council room, please!” Vicar Marius holds his hands to stop the bickering around the table, but this doesn’t silence everyone. Hana is placed at her spot at the table, and Ellie is behind her. They had shown up to the meeting together, both with the same mindset. Somehow, though this man was brought over, he wasn’t the one they meant to bring.

“There will be order once these two have started to talk sense!” Diederich accuses the young women in the room with a finger jabbed toward them.

“An omnipotent from Yesterday? That’s obscene!” Fritz turns to the burgundy-dressed man and nods.

“Listen, I gave him an entrance test as I would anyone,” Ellie says from her spot behind Hana. Both of her hands are in tight fists, infuriated by the elder council folk who refuse to listen. “And he interacted with three of the branches like it was nothing.” She grits her teeth as the members all attempt to speak over one another.

“She gave him advantages! Must have!” Marisol conjectures in her shaky voice.

“Or maybe she fancies him.” Jean’s body language is a symphony of exhaustion, with a heavy sigh and a weary roll of his eyes behind his mask. Despite his desire to agree with the two women leading the meeting, he was bound by his promise to keep quiet about Reyes’ unusual behavior, a secret weighing heavy on his tired shoulders.

“One of the hecatombs could never be omnipotent! And most certainly not able to use much of the magic even if they were!” Another member grumbles while crossing their arms.

“If you all would be quiet for five minutes,” Hana growls, doing her best to keep her tone flat as usual. “Then you would find she did no such thing.” Her head jerks from side to side, her hair swaying with the motion. She then brings her hand down onto the table, fingers splaying out and gripping the edge. “I was able to watch him perform physical magic as if it was no challenge at all. He interacts with fauna as if he trained with the fae and plays with light as though trained in the Crystalfall Maker Space for years.”

“Well, of course, he has magic! Why else would he have been brought over?!”

“They all have magic. But is it wise to let a hecatomb be someone who has used so much already?”

“It would be a waste to have an omnipotent being the center of a festival! Hecatomb or not!” Ellie shouts.

“People! Please!” Vicar Marius’s voice booms over everyone, causing them to stop their bickering at last. His hand reaches up to his neck, fingers curling slightly before tugging at the collar of his shirt. His eyes meet Hana’s with a determined look. “Please, Lady Gutheil, have the floor to speak.”

“I brought Ellie here because I agree with her sentiments.” Hana watches as the other people around the council table start ruffling about in their seats. However, as Marius made Hana the speaker, they didn’t dare interrupt. “Our most recent guest passed three tests with ease.
